Managing Financial Conflicts of Interest in Pharmaceutical & Medical Device Research (Location: Auditorium)

This program will examine the types of financial conflicts of interest that arise in research involving pharmaceuticals and medical devices, strategies for managing these conflicts, and applicable federal and state laws and policies. Topics will include:

1. Defining conflicts of interest
2. Evaluating the potential impact of conflicts of interest on research participants and the integrity of research results
3. FDA and NIH requirements related to conflicts of interest
4. State laws related to conflicts of interest
5. The role of disclosure as a remedy to conflicts of interest
6. Best practices in conflicts of interest management
